Experimental Bristol-based live-looping pianist and singer-songwriter. Fusing post-rock and Reich-esque minimalism with elements of glitch and 60's psychedelia, tracks veer from startling complexity to playful simplicity in an instant. Enriched with volcanic guitar noise, live sampling/signal processing, and a rhythm section capable of dragging you onto the dance-floor or slamming you into the back wall at will, her live show is one you won’t forget in a hurry. Veterans of the Glastonbury Festival, Dr Sax completed their third album in January 2007, The Gospels According to Dr Sax. This album featured vocalist Beth Rowley on two tracks. She has since signed a deal with Universal. The new album, 'Take it to the Bridge' is scheduled for release Autumn 2008. Jocasta is a product of the soul, reggae and drum n bass melting pot that describes the music of Bristol. When you also take into account that both of her parents are professional musicians with a jazz flavour, you are starting to get close to her unique talent and sound.
